Ito Shinsui's Biography
- Date of Birth: February 4, 1898
- Place of Birth: Fukagawa-ku, Tokyo (now Koto-ku, Tokyo)

- Painting Career:
o He showed talent for painting from an early age and at age 11 At the age of 11, he taught himself to paint while working for a printing company.
o In 1912, he won his first prize at the 12th Tatsumi Gakkai Exhibition.
o In 1914, he was selected for the 1st Inten Exhibition and began his career as a painter.
o He mainly specialized in paintings of beautiful women, and established his own style of painting, inheriting the tradition of ukiyoe while incorporating a modern sensibility.
o After the war, he produced works on personal subjects such as flower-and-bird paintings and landscapes, in addition to his beauty paintings.
o In 1958, he became a member of the Japan Art Academy.
o In 1972, he was awarded the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon.
o In 1975, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 3rd class.
o He passed away on May 4, 1980. He was 73 years old.
