Susumu Maki was born in 1936. Born in Tokyo, Maki studied under his artistic mentor, Ryuko Kawabata, and painted many landscapes in beautiful Japan, capturing the beauty of each season. In his later years, he worked as an independent artist, but he continued to be active with solo exhibitions and other activities, and is widely known as one of Japan's leading masters of Japanese painting who has remained active throughout his life. He has been active in the field of Japanese painting since his childhood, and is widely known as one of Japan's leading masters. It was during this period that Makishin had a fateful encounter when he became an apprentice of Ryuko Kawabata. His master was strict and strict in the old days, and his teachings were painful, but Makishin's love for painting was unparalleled, and he was able to complete his hard training and polish his skills. Makishin's life took a turn when he met two Kawabata artists. First, he met Ryuko, his greatest teacher as a painter, and then he met Yasunari Kawabata, a great writer, in a shocking encounter that would completely change his life as a painter. At the time of his solo exhibition of "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter," Kawabata praised his six-panel, one-color folding screen painting Shingoi. The artist and I share the same points of view. After this shocking encounter, Makishin decided on his painting style and began to paint a number of beautiful works. In "Plexus", he depicted many small animals crowding around the meticulously realistic overall image, but in addition to the beautiful composition that gives us a sense of the seasons, each color is drawn with a gentle and beautiful texture, as if it were an excellent work that allows us to feel the four seasons. Susumu Makishin changed his life in a spectacular way by meeting people. In this day and age, when we are losing touch with people, isn't it important to continue to have such warm, human connections?
